The little things.

Today, I stepped out of the balcony to PAUSE.

I looked outside, the sun is shining bright, there’s a soft breeze moving the leaves of the trees, but it was quiet. With this community quarantine, everyone is forced to keep safe in the comforts of their home. And then I realized, how lucky it is to have a balcony – a small space to stay “outside” at this time.

I have a few plants here, usually I plant seeds straight up from the kitchen i.e. tomatoes, bell peppers, etc – my seed-to-table mini projects. Along with these veggies, is a big pot of a flowering plant – Bougainvillea. So there, my simple mindfulness practice is I look at each of the pots and plants closely, and see if something has changed. Did they grow? Do they need water? Are there bugs harming them? Nature has wonders if you take time and look closely, and I found today’s gift.

Aside from its already brightly colored modified leaves, our little bougainvillea decided to show some more love, with this unique perfectly heart-shaped leaf.

Sometimes it is the little things that make you smile

I hurriedly took my phone and captured the cute little leaf. A leaf different from all the rest on the branch, but perfectly made, perfectly shaped.

There’s a lesson here, if you reflect deeply. Feel free to share your thoughts.
