Araw ng Paggawa

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty

Proverbs 14:23

Labor Day. We remember why we work, and work hard. We remember those who serve through good work. We remember those who take action.

Work is not just about the typical 8-5 job who bustle the city commute to get to the office, or the entrepreneur who hussle 24/7 to keep the business afloat. Work is what you DO, it’s when you TAKE action.

WHY DO WE WORK

  • For a living. We need to be able to support ourselves and our family. Without financial means, we can’t do much to design our lives
  • For meaning. We need to be able to connect. It’s the people that we meet, it’s the relationship that we build. It’s these that shapes us.
  • For being. We are what we do consistently. If you create content consistently, you become a content creator. If you write consistently, you eventually become a writer. What you do amplifies your strengths, and the challenges and encounters you have transforms you to who you can become.

Maligayang Araw ng Paggawa! Happy Labor Day! This year a special thank you goes to all the frontliners – the health workers for giving their best and risking their lives daily in this fight against Covid-19 and the essential workers who make sure what we need will be kept available. Salute and prayers to each and everyone who are taking action. Wherever you may be, may success and grace follow you.
