Sarciado is a dish I thought was my mom’s original. Whenever we have leftover fried fish, I knew she would cook this the following day. I have to search for the correct spelling as I can’t remember if I hear her say “Sarsiado” or “Salciado”. What I’m sure is it’s tomato-based and it’s yummy.
Today, I somehow craved for it so I called my mom to ask for her recipe. I think it makes her proud that her daughter is daring to cook. At some point in growing up, despite of the many restaurants that serve great food and the numerous interesting recipes you can find online, you always long for the pretty unique taste of your mom’s cooking.
She mentioned a different kind of fish, but I only have Tilapia. She said it should be fine and might even be tastier. I followed her tip to fry until crispy followed by below quick and easy steps:
- Saute garlic, onion, and tomatoes until fragrant
- Add 2 tbsp fish sauce and 1 cup water and bring to boil
- Add fried fish and pour scrambled egg. Mix gently, and simmer for about 5 mins.
Serve with hot rice and enjoy with your beautiful family. Happy Sunday!
