5 Ways to Relieve Toothache (from home)

I can’t think of anything today except for my toothache. Sadly, there’s no dental services yet because we’re on region lockdown. I checked what could be wrong using a mirror and a light, it’s swollen gums right under the molar. So I guess for the meantime, I’ll stick to these different ways to get temporary relief until I can see a dentist.

SALT WATER RINSE. This is mom’s recommended way. Stir 1/2 tsp of salt in a glass warm water and use to gargle.

PEPPERMINT TEA. It has cooling effect in the mouth and it’s refreshing that’s why I use it. Some says peppermint has also mild numbing effect.

COLD COMPRESS. Whenever pain seems unbearable, this is my last resort. I’m not sure if it does relieve the pain or it tricks my brain to focus on the cold feeling instead.

IBUPROFREN + PARACETAMOL. It’s a pain reliever that we always have at home. Normally consumed for migraine, but since it has ibuprofen it effectively reduces the pain. As much as possible, I try not to pop meds. But in case when I can’t sleep because of the pain, I would.

SLEEP. A temporary relief indeed. If you can sleep off the pain, well in good.

If you’ve tried other effective home remedies, please share below. I’m sure to be seeing a dentist as soon as available and we’re allowed to go out.
